THE CLS FIELD FOR HIS FIRST 2024 WIN AT THE
BAKERSFIELD SPEEDWAY (Torrance, CA, March
12, 2024) After the younger
generation won the first two races of the 2023
season, California Lightning Sprint Car Series
legend Bobby Michnowicz decided enough is enough
and proved the saying “Old Guys Rule” by laying
a beat down on the CLS field last Saturday at
the Bakersfield Speedway. The 60-year-old
lightning superstar jumped into the lead on lap
two and led the final 24 laps on “The West’s

TO WIN CLS MAIN AT IMPERIAL (Torrance,
CA, March 5, 2024)
After a blown starter relay fuse knocked him out
of the main event 24 hours earlier, Connor Speir
came back to win the California Lightning Sprint
Car Series/SoCal Lightning Sprint main event on
Saturday night at the Imperial Valley Raceway.
The victory was his second in lightning
competition and his first since his rookie year
in 2022. This Saturday night the CLS will make
its first 2024 appearance at the Bakersfield

After a phenomenal finish when he placed in the
top five in his last seven starts of 2023, Aiden
Lange served notice that he is a driver to be
reckoned with when he swept the show at the
California Lightning Sprint Car Series 30th
anniversary season opener at the Imperial Valley
Raceway on Friday night. The victory staked him
to the series point lead in the rigorous 20-race

SPRINT CARS OPEN 30th SEASON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY
AT IMPERIAL (Torrance, CA,
February 27, 2024) The California
Lightning Sprint Car Series will kick off its
historic 30th season with a pair of races during
the California Mid-Winter Fair at the Imperial
Valley Raceway this Friday and Saturday, March
1st and 2nd. Joining the CLS for this week’s
exciting races will be the SoCal Lightning
Sprints. Racing will begin at 7:00 p.m. on
Friday and 6:30 on Saturday. The main event will

circumstances beyond the club’s control, the
race scheduled at the Bakersfield Speedway on
March 23rd has been moved up to March 9th. The

SEASON SCHEDULE (Torrance, CA,
January 22, 2024) The
table has been set for the historic 30th season
of racing for Southern California’s premier
lightning sprint organization, the California
Lightning Sprint Cars. The famous So Cal-based
racing club will kick off the new campaign
during the annual California Mid-Winter Fair at
the Imperial Valley Raceway on March 1st and
2nd. The 20-race schedule will end nine months

BY WINNING HIS HISTORIC SIXTH CLS CHAMPIONSHIP
(Torrance, CA, November 18, 2023) Mere
hours before his 60th birthday, legendary Bobby
Michnowicz driver gave himself an early present
by sewing up his historic sixth California
Lightning Sprint Car Series championship. The
victory, his sixth in the CLS in 2023, came
during the running of the 7th Annual Western
States Lightning Sprint Car Series championship
at the Bakersfield Speedway. It was his fourth
win in the first seven years of the event. In
addition to capturing the main, and sewing up
the CLS title, the longtime racer also clinched
the crown in the CLS/POWRi Best of the West
