CLS MEMBER COMMUNICATION
AUGUST 17, 2026.

What a weekend of racing! Visalia and Lemoore welcomed California’s top Lightning Sprint competitors for the inaugural Bullring Nationals, and the event more than lived up to expectations. Even with a smaller field, the level of talent was incredible, as the best drivers in the state came ready to battle.

Friday night at Plaza Park once again showcased why it remains one of California’s premier bullrings. All ten competitors were separated by less than half a second in qualifying, setting the stage for an action-packed evening. The racing only intensified as the night went on, culminating in a fantastic feature event where every driver put on a show and the entire field finished on the lead lap.

Saturday brought soaring temperatures, but the competitors never backed down. Despite the heat, the racing remained as tight as ever, with the entire field once again qualifying within half a second of one another. Fans were treated to another exciting night of competition, and the overwhelmingly positive feedback from both drivers and spectators proved just how successful the weekend was. Events like this are what keep the momentum and excitement of the season building.

A special thank you goes out to the sponsors who helped make the Bullring Nationals a memorable experience for racers and fans alike: Motor City GMC, American Racer, TJ Forged, Quick Change Liquid Energy, R&R Racing, Greg’s Hardwood Floors, Sexton Fire Protection, A&G Sand Cars, PJ Benedetti “The Italian Stallion,” Schweitzer, Cakes by Kim, and especially TShirts by Timeless. The hard work and dedication of Bobby and Wendy played a major role in making the entire weekend possible.

Next up is California Clash Race #3, the CLS/SCLS “Clash” event at Perris Auto Speedway. For the first time in several years, Lightning Sprints will return to the PAS on its newly engineered quarter-mile track. With California’s best drivers set to converge on Perris once again, Round 3 of the California Clash Series is shaping up to be an unforgettable night of racing. If the Bullring Nationals were any indication, fans should expect nothing short of an epic showdown.

Schedule note: The CLS / SCLS Clash race at Barona has been rescheduled to Oct 10 (from Nov 21).
