Rounds Two and
Three of CLS vs. BCRA Civil War Series This
Weekend at Visalia and Lemoore Torrance,
CA — August 2, 2026 — After a five-week
break, the Motor City Buick/GMC California
Lightning Sprint Car Series returns to action this
Friday and Saturday, August 7-8, for rounds two
and three of the four-race Civil War Series
matching the CLS against the Bay Cities Racing
Association Lightning Sprints.

Friday’s Bull Ring Nationals opener will take
place at Keller Auto Center Plaza Park Raceway in
Visalia. Twenty-four hours and about 30 miles
later, the series will move to the Lemoore Jet
Bowl on Saturday.
Heading into the Central
Valley doubleheader, seven-time CLS champion Bobby
Michnowicz of Oak Hills and defending BCRA
champion Greg Dennett are tied for the Civil War
point lead with 135 points each. Defending CLS
champion Aiden Lange of Lakewood is just five
points behind. BCRA veteran Dakota Albright of
Waterford and CLS leading rookie Liam Coffey of
San Bernardino are tied for fourth.
While
CLS drivers occupy three of the top five
positions, BCRA competitors hold six of the top 10
spots.
The opening round of the 2026 Civil
War Series was held June 27 at Merced Speedway.
Lange was the fastest qualifier, while Albright
and Michnowicz won the heat races. Dennett started
on the pole and led every lap. Michnowicz finished
second, followed by Lange, Coffey and Albright.
Both of this weekend’s races will pay $800 to
win and $100 to start. In addition, the top three
drivers in event points will receive custom
jackets, and every entrant will receive an event
cap. Hotel information for this weekend is
available on the Plaza Park Raceway website.
When the two clubs met at Visalia and Lemoore
last August, Palmdale’s Eric Greco won the Visalia
main event over T.J. Smith and current USAC
Western States Midget championship point leader
Drake Cardey. The following night at Lemoore,
Hunter Kinney took the victory ahead of Jeff Dyer
and Lange.
The four-race Civil War Series
will conclude September 19 at Merced Speedway.
Following this weekend’s race, the CLS will be
idle until August 29, when it returns to its
former home track, Perris Auto Speedway, for the
first time since August 2018. The highly
anticipated event will be round three of the
California Clash Series with the SoCal Lightning
Sprint Cars.
