CLS Member Communication
March 4, 2024.

What an exhilarating weekend it was at Imperial Valley Raceway! The dedicated team there spared no effort in creating an exceptional racetrack. Communication flowed abundantly, focusing on track conditions and meticulous preparations to optimize the racing surface, even in the face of challenging winds. Collaborating with these remarkable individuals was a pleasure, and the entire program unfolded seamlessly.

A heartfelt thank you to all the racers who graced the event with their presence, delivering a top-notch professional performance. The joint efforts of the California Lightning Sprints and SoCal Lightning Sprints clubs culminated in an electrifying and aggressive show for the enthusiastic fans. Yes, there were occasional clashes like “oil and water,” but everyone transcended those moments, keeping their eyes on the ultimate prize: a thrilling race.

Let’s raise our imaginary checkered flags to celebrate the winners! And stay tuned for Scott’s upcoming press release, where further details will unfold like the twists and turns of a high-speed track.

Our upcoming event takes us to Bakersfield Speedway for their 2024 season opener this Saturday, March 9th. 🏁 This track is widely regarded as one of the finest lightning sprint circuits, and you definitely won’t want to miss it! So, all you So Cal Lightning Sprints enthusiasts, let’s maintain that exhilarating momentum and join us at Bakersfield. 🚀

BCRA racers, consider this your perfect tune-up before your own season opener the following weekend. And for our California Lightning Sprints drivers, you already know that this is an exciting racing venue, so make sure your cars are prepped and ready for action!

Hoosier stopped making SP2 compound RR tires mid 2023 season. In order to keep the playing field fair and allow those with an inventory of SP2 still in their trailer the board has allowed the continued use of SP2 for qualifying and heat races in the 2024 season. However, all cars that are presented for tech at the end of the main event (top 4) in 2024 must use SP3 compound on their RR. There will be a 3 race grace period at the beginning of the season with the first 2 races of that grace period being the 2 day Imperial
